STEM Tech
When completing activities that involve typing, please place your hands on home row and use correct touch typing techniques: not looking at keyboard, sitting up straight, feet as close to floor at possible.
[For Parents]
We are working to create 21st Century Learners every day in the Technology Lab! Who knows what types of jobs await our students in the future? Our students are required to be skilled in the use of many different types of technology as well as being independent thinkers and problem solvers.
In Elementary, we start working on the basics: Keyboarding, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Databases (Technology as a Tool). We also learn about Sources of Information, Informational Text, Research Process, and Safety and Ethical Issues. They are introduced to the physical components of the computer and examples of applications. While we are learning these basics, we are also using grade level appropriate content, encouraging creativity and exploring the STEM Engineering Design Process.
[Anchor Activities]
Anchor Activities are what students may do if they finish early.
